Communication is a two-way street. I pledge to avail myself to you, and want to hear the issues you experience. And, I pledge to transparently share frequent, regular city business with citizens in a way everyone can understand. In every possible way, I will fight to make Jackson’s city government more transparent overall.

We deserve to feel safe in our own community. We should feel secure when in our homes, walking our neighborhood, shopping local businesses, enjoying community parks, and in transit. We deserve to feel safe in our driveway as we exit and enter our vehicle and while in the yard and inside the home. A vibrant community walks and bikes and sends children off to play with neighbors. We should feel confident and safe when shopping at community businesses or visiting neighborhood parks.

Jacksonians deserve clean drinking water, smooth and safe roadways, and reliable trash collection. We’ve made some progress in those areas, but not for everyone, and not fast enough. We need to accelerate our progress in infrastructure and ensure every resident has access to the basics of city life.

When businesses big and small start in Jackson, expand in Jackson, or move to Jackson, the city experiences economic and recreational benefits.

Jackson truly is the City with Soul, and there is so much to feel proud of. We should rally together around all that makes Jackson special. Even as we work to address urgent challenges, we should acknowledge the spirit, creativity, beauty, and ingenuity of our city - to ourselves and to the world at large.
