Rooted in Jackson

• Kevin Parkinson lives in the Belhaven neighborhood with his wife and three kids.

• His family attends St. James Episcopal Church in Fondren.

• His children (including his son Jackson, named for their love of the city) attend JPS’s McWillie Elementary School and previously attended Little Samaritan Montessori Center in Midtown.

Why I’m Running

• As much as I love Jackson, I know we can work together to make our city even stronger.

• Committed to ensuring our city works, functions, and thrives for all of its residents.

• Passionate about bringing people together to solve our most pressing problems.

Accomplishments

• Led a local Title I public school; helped to create positive, sustained growth in a school once on the verge of closure.

• Served on the Mississippi Department of Education’s Principal Advisory Committee.

• Matriculated more than 450 teachers into the state of Mississippi.
